Who can volunteer with APSEA?
APSEA welcomes adults of all backgrounds, regardless of prior healthcare experience. To volunteer, you simply need to attend a training session and pass an assessment to ensure readiness for our screenings.
How often are training and assessments held?
Training sessions and assessments are typically offered twice at the beginning of the semester and once mid-semester. Volunteers only need to attend one training and one assessment, provided the assessment is passed. If you train early in the semester, you have the option to assess mid-semester. We recommend signing up for training only if you can commit to attending an assessment. For detailed information, please refer to the training and assessment FAQ.
Do APSEA volunteer hours count as clinical or non-clinical experience?
APSEA volunteer hours are recognized as clinical experience.
